Construction and materials

The bed frame is made of solid bog oak beams. The trees of this oak have grown for over 100 years; cracks and a lively wood grain are part of their character and are not a defect. The frame rests on two metal runners, which give the bed its name and visually lift it off the floor. The headboard is built from two horizontal boards with the upper edge left in its natural state. Backlighting is available on request. Bedside tables are available as an option for one or both sides.

The bed suits bedrooms where wood, metal and a rather restrained furnishing come together. It suits couples and single sleepers who want a sleeping area from 140 cm wide. If you value natural wood with visible cracks, you get a piece of furniture in which each example looks slightly different. It is less suitable for small rooms: the frame is 30 cm wider than the sleeping area and 225 cm long. If you prefer a smooth, even wood surface, a different model is the better choice.

You choose the sleeping area 140 × 200, 160 × 200 or 180 × 200 cm. The outer frame measures 170, 190 or 210 × 225 cm. Bedside tables can be chosen as none, left, right or both sides. Backlighting on the headboard is chosen with or without. Mattress, slatted frame and decoration are not included. A special made-to-measure version is available on request.

Care and warranty

Cracks in the bog oak are normal and a feature of the natural wood, not a defect. Sprenger's care instructions are not available to us, and nor is any information on the warranty period. We will ask the manufacturer for both on your behalf before you order.
