Cookies and local storage

In short

Simply browsing our shop sets no cookies — none for analytics, none for advertising; our reach measurement is cookie-free. That is why you see no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. As soon as you sign in, open your order or reach the payment step, we — or our payment provider — set only strictly-necessary cookies that those exact functions require. Under the applicable law (revDSG, ePrivacy) such cookies need no consent.

Strictly-necessary cookies

We set these only when you need them — when you sign in or access your order. They serve sign-in, order access and security; without them your account and protected order pages do not work.

  • connect.sid – keeps you signed in to your customer account (session cookie). Set at login, not readable by JavaScript (HttpOnly), and expires after about 7 days of inactivity.
  • dlx_auth – a simple hint that you are signed in, so the page recognises your account immediately. Expires after about 7 days.
  • dlx_oa_… – gives you, as a guest, access to your own order after you confirm the order's email address. HttpOnly, expires after about 30 days.

What else we store on your device

For the remaining features we use your browser's local and session storage instead of cookies. That data stays on your device, is not sent along with every request, and exists purely to make the shop work:

  • deluxe_sleep_cart_id – links your basket so it is still there on your next visit.
  • ds-checkout-draft-v1 – remembers what you typed at checkout so it survives a page change.
  • dlx_sleep_profile – stores your result from the online sleep adviser on your device.
  • dlx_vid – a random identifier for our own visit statistics, not linked to you personally.
  • dlx_from_quiz, dlx-lang-scroll – short-lived hints within one session, for example to return to the same spot after a language switch.
  • dlx_profile_conflict_dismissed, ds-verify-banner-dismissed – remember that you closed a notice.

You can delete the cookies and local data at any time by clearing the site data for deluxe-sleep.ch in your browser. Your basket, sign-in and sleep profile will be lost with them. Signing out removes the sign-in cookies immediately.

Analytics without cookies

We measure reach with Matomo on our own server in the EU (Germany). It is configured cookie-free, respects your browser's Do Not Track setting, truncates the last two bytes of your IP address and deletes the raw logs after 180 days. Nothing is passed to third parties and no cross-site profile is built.

Payment

As soon as you open the payment step, Stripe loads its payment form and sets its own cookies — __stripe_mid (about twelve months) and __stripe_sid (about 30 minutes) — plus a cookie on m.stripe.com. They serve fraud detection and the secure matching of your payment. The payment cannot be processed without them; they are set at the payment step only, not while browsing.
